Our Full Finger Prosthesis Solution Designed for Smaller Hands, Including Children

The Point Digit mini is a heavy-duty, passive articulating prosthetic finger designed to be both lightweight and strong, using a novel ratcheting mechanism to lock between 7 and 11 unique positions of flexion.

Our smaller prosthetic fingers are designed for people who have lost one or more fingers at or near the MCP joint. The Point Digit mini empowers people with partial hand loss by giving them more mobility, function, and independence.

Point Designs' prosthetic fingers are designed for patients with finger loss who require a durable device and the ability for one-handed operation and various levels of flexion. The prosthesis is made of titanium and stainless steel, and comes with all necessary hardware for integration into a prosthetic socket.

Our 3D printed prosthetic fingers are made from semi-hollow titanium using a direct metal laser sintering process. The main features of the Point Digit mini include:

  • We stock 5 standard sizes of our Point Digit mini (measuring 55, 60, 65, 70, and 75 mm from MCP joint center to fingertip)
  • Fast delivery
  • 150 lb (68 kg) load capacity
  • 0.71 oz - 0.99 oz (20 g - 28 g) in weight depending on length

  • Patented ratcheting mechanism enabling unilateral operation with auto spring back
  • Integrated compliant fingertip pads that are touch screen compatible and field replaceable
  • The only prosthetic finger with anatomical rotation about the patient’s metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint

To operate the Point Digit mini, the user positions the finger into one of the locking levels of flexion by pushing the dorsal side against an opposing surface (e.g., table, thigh, etc.). The device locks into place automatically, enabling the individual to perform their desired task.

There are two methods to extend the digit:

  1. by pressing the button on the dorsal side of the finger
  2. by fully flexing the finger to engage the auto spring back feature (single-handed use)

We also offer a mounting kit that aligns fingers relative to each other for multiple (up to 4) finger systems. The fingers are ideal for people with near MCP level amputation. Slightly distal (especially if the residual digit range of motion is minimal) and proximal partial hand patients are also good candidates. We see the best outcome when the patient has an intact thumb for opposition.
