Point Partial
The Point Partial is a heavy-duty, mechanical articulating prosthetic finger designed to be both lightweight and strong, using a novel ratcheting mechanism to lock into 7 unique positions of flexion. Built for people who’ve lost one or more fingers at or near the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint, it empowers users with greater mobility, function, and independence.
Point Designs’ prosthetic fingers are designed for patients with partial finger loss who require a durable device, one-handed operation, and various levels of flexion. The prosthesis is made of titanium and stainless steel. It can be adjusted with the simple touch of a button or by using the spring-loaded release mechanism.
- One-handed positioning
- Low weight, high strength
- Anatomical flexion and rotation around the PIP joint
- 150 lb load rating
- 3 standard lengths (45, 50, and 55 mm measured from the end of the residual digit to fingertip)
- 7 locking levels of flexion
- Fast delivery (2-3 days in most cases)
- 150 lb (68 kg) load capacity
- 1.1 oz – 1.3 oz (30 g – 36 g) in weight depending on length
- Patented ratcheting mechanism enabling unilateral operation with auto spring back
- Integrated compliant fingertip pads that are touch screen compatible and field replaceable
- The only prosthetic finger with anatomical rotation about the patient’s MCP or PIP joint
To operate the Point Partial, the user positions the finger into one of the locking levels of flexion by pushing the dorsal side against an opposing surface (e.g., table, thigh, etc.). The device locks into place automatically, enabling the individual to perform their desired task.
There are two methods to extend the digit:
- Press the button on the dorsal side of the finger
- Fully flex the finger to engage the auto spring back feature (single-handed use)
Mounting Kit
The Point Partial mounting kit is a separately purchased, required component, in order to align and integrate the Point Partial into a prosthesis and retain the respectively published load rating.
- Each finger fitting requires 1 mounting bracket
- Alignment tools included
- Lamination spacers and mounting hardware included
- Allows dynamic fitting between fingers
